👋 Hey, MG here—I wrote of the Habit Factor® trilogy, and somewhat accidentally ‘unearthed’ the Unified Behavior Model™ (UBM), I also host the Habits 2 Goals podcast —which might be the longest-running habits and goals podcast around.
The short story: That prolonged, concentrated effort —two decades-plus— has produced a fair amount of work, and a small, loyal following. Please know, I do not take your TRUST lightly. 🙏
Re: The Unified Behavior Model™ (UBM) it is unprecedented in that it is; elemental, unified and falsifiable —meaning is testable. That is the gold-standard that make science “hard”—testability. So, please be sure to test it yourself!
Note: The UBM AP News releaseis at the very bottom!

Is Time On Your Side?
“Time Is on My Side” — most people credit the Rolling Stones for the hit.
It was written by Norman Meade and first recorded by jazz trombonist Kai Winding in 1963. The Stones covered it shortly after and scored their first US top-10 hit.
The song’s beautiful message: I’m not worried. Time is my ally. You’ll come back around.
That may be the perfect sentiment for a love song — yet it’s hardly ideal for productivity.
“Time keeps on slipping, slipping, slipping… into the future.”
Steve Miller probably had the better productivity anthem. 😄
Time is the one thing nearly everyone wishes they had more of.
It’s a commodity for most. It’s free and yet, it never returns.
Time is NOT money.
You can earn lost money back. You will never earn lost time back.
There it goes… ⏳
The good news?
There’s a temporary fix— it’s hardly permanent.
Our hero Ben Franklin coined it nearly 300 years ago:
“An investment in knowledge always pays the best dividends.”
Same 24 hours. Same seven days.
So, how do the ones we admire do it?
They tried something new.
They learned something new and took action.
So the irony is semi-striking.
We all want more time.
We all want to be more effective, yet we hesitate, wait, procrastinate.
Days. Weeks. Months. Years.
Maybe even decades before we wake up!
Then, almost without exception, the moment we take some real ACTION and get some real feedback — the moment something new and different clicks — the first thought is:
“Darn. I wish I had done this sooner.”
I’m still reflecting on a recent student’s message.
He was chuckling. However, it wasn’t the funny-funny chuckle.
It was the sad-funny chuckle.
“I wish I’d known about this work sooner. I mean — I feel like I’ve wasted so much time.”
Confucius nailed it. After all, that’s what Confucius does.
“The best time to plant a tree was twenty years ago. The second best time is now.”
The best time WAS twenty years ago. Maybe it was even last year, last week, yesterday. However, the second best time is NOW.
